What If Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Shows Up To A CFL Game In 2021

TSN CFL Insider Dave Naylor was a guest on Overdrive on TSN and was asked about The Rock. Specifically, what would the reaction be if Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson shows up on the big screen at a CFL game talking XFL, what would the CFL fan’s reaction be?

“In Winnipeg or Saskatchewan. Oh, boy. I bet it’s more positive than negative, but it would be a good chunk of both.”

On The Rock Appearing Where The CFL Is Not Struggling

“I mean, that is the heartland. That is the traditional here the teams aren’t struggling, where they don’t feel like they need to change into something else and say things are good. I also think there’s a lot of people who understand that this league has to adapt, has to grow, has to see beyond its borders and for the future. They believe in this. So at least they want to see this played out as much as possible.”

Would The Rock Get A Positive Response

“I’m going to say 60-40 positive on the on The Rock on the big screen at IG Field in Winnipeg.”

The CFL announced yesterday that they will officially return to the field on August 5th with training camps beginning July 10th. The Grey Cup was not played last year for the first time since 1919.

We doubt The Rock would make an appearance anytime this CFL season as the two leagues continue their talks. The CFL most likely will be focusing on themselves and the XFL as well over the next couple of months Any type of announcement would come after the CFL is over in December.

I think he will make in appearance but without making an announcement.

What if the Rock showed up to a CFL game with Johnny Manziel, calling for his reinstatement. That would make some news and generate more attention to the CFL, and also draw a few more fans. As long as the Rock doesn’t want to change CFL rules, he will be welcome, and so will the XFL.
