Detroit Lions Sign QB Jordan Ta’amu

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN has reported via Twitter that the Detroit Lions are signing former BattleHawks QB Jordan Ta’amu.

Ta’amu was most recently with the Chiefs and served as not only on the practice squad,, but also prepared the team to defend against QBs Deshaun Watson and Lamar Jackson.

Jordan was also part of the Lions during the offseason last year, but didn’t make the active roster.

Ta’amu was signed by the Texansin 2019 as an undrafted free agent after he finished as one of the top passers in the SEC at Ole Miss.

After final roster cuts, Ta’amu became part of the players pool for the XFL. H was chosen to be the 1st player to the St Louis BattleHawks, and led the team to a 4-1 record while being the 3rd-ranked passer in the league with 1,050 yards on 72% completion rate and 5 TDs, and the top-ranked QB in rushing yards with 217 yards and 1 TD on 41 carries.
