CFL’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers Sign STL BattleHawks WR Alonzo Russell

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers sign St Louis BattleHawks WR Alonzo Russell to a one year deal. Russell will join, Armanti Edwards, Sergio Castillo, Jalen Saunders, Ranthony Texada, Brandon Wilds, Channing Stribling, Doran Grant, and Mekale McKay in the CFL. McKay, Texada, and Grant recently signed to the Blue Bombers as well.

Russell finished the 5 games season with 15 catches for 161 yards and 1 touchdown.

He was drafted 9th round, 70th overall, in the Phase #1 portion of the 2020 XFL draft. He was drafted by the St Louis BattleHawks.

He played his college ball at the University of Toledo. At 27 years old he had stops with the Bengals, Cardinals, and Giants.
