Pierson-El joined the Raiders in camp this summer, and was added to the practice squad in late September. The NFL team had some major injuries in the receiving corps, so, depth in the locker room was needed.
That’s no longer the case, as Marcell Ateman, one of the pass catchers that had been injured, is now healthy again. The move made room for ATeman to rejoin the team.
Pierson-El was signed by the Washington Football Team as an undrafted free agent out of Nebraska. After stints in the CFL (Montreal Alouettes), and the AAF (Salt Lake Stallions), he was selected in the 3rd round of the XFL Draft by St. Louis.
He ended the virus-shortened season with 23 catches, 209 yards and 2 TDs.
